Loretto, Pa – The Saint Francis Red Flash field hockey team (1-3) looks to rebound from its loss to Sacred Heart as it is set to take on Central Michigan and Indiana on the road.
Scouting Central Michigan
The Chippewas are 1-3 on the season and are coming off a 1-3 loss against La Salle. Central Michigan has been outshot 63 shots to 23 shots overall this season, which equates to 5.8 shots in favor of the Chippewas and a 15.8 shot average against them. The Red Flash should look to take advantage of shot opportunities as they enter the game averaging 14.3 shots per game. Despite the excessive amount of shots on goal, Central Michigan's goalkeeper Lily Amadio has recorded a 0.800 save percentage. The Red Flash are 1-0 all-time against Central Michigan with Saint Francis winning the only meeting between the two in 2017, 4-0.
Scouting Indiana
The Hoosiers enter the match 1-3, pending a matchup with Stanford on Friday. Despite the losing record, two of Indiana's three loses were one goal differences. They dropped the season opener against #8 Louisville 1-2 and lost to Villanova 2-3 in overtime. The Hoosiers have a well-balanced offense with multiple goal scorers. All five of Indiana's goals have come from a different player and each goal was assisted by a different player. This will be the first meeting between Indiana and Saint Francis.
