Women's soccer hosts FDU and Sacred Heart this weekend

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's soccer (4-6-1, 3-1-0 NEC) returns to Stokes Soccerplex to host Fairleigh Dickinson (5-5-3, 4-0-0 NEC) on Friday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. and Sacred Heart (5-5-2, 2-1-1 NEC) on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. Sunday's game will serve as the team's breast cancer research fundraiser. Fans are encouraged to wear pink with t-shirts and scrunchies available for sale and donations being accepted.
 
Scouting Fairleigh Dickinson
Winners of three straight, the first place Knights are coming off a 3-0 victory over Sacred Heart this past Sunday. FDU previously knocked off reigning NEC champ Central Connecticut State 1-0 in double overtime on Oct. 3 and defeated Merrimack 2-1 on Sept. 29. The Knights lead the NEC in shots with 14.46 per game and rank second with 4.08 points per contest. Fairleigh Dickinson is first in the league with four shutouts. Maja Skansberg paces the team with nine points on three goals and three assists, while Lea Egner has eight points on three goals and two assists.
 
Series History
Saint Francis is 10-9-4 in the all-time series history with Fairleigh Dickinson. The Red Flash are 5-3-2 when facing the Knights at home. SFU won last season's meeting 2-1 in double overtime on Oct. 20, 2018 in Teaneck, N.J.
 
Scouting Sacred Heart
Prior to its 3-0 defeat to Fairleigh Dickinson, the Pioneers knocked off winless St. Francis Brooklyn 1-0 on Sept. 29. Sacred Heart fought to a 2-2 tie with Wagner on Sept. 27. The Pioneers rank second in the NEC in shots per game (14.17) and tied for second in shutouts with three. Michelle Clarkin paces the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists, while Azria Malloy had seven points on three goals and an assist.
 
Series History
Saint Francis is 9-8-5 in the all-time series history with Sacred Heart. The Red Flash won last season's meeting 3-2 on Sept. 28, 2018 in Fairfield, Conn.
 
McGhee earns NEC Player of the Week honors
Senior forward Alyssa McGhee (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) was named NEC Player of the Week after her stellar performances at LIU and Wagner. McGhee scored three goals over the weekend to help the Red Flash pick up two key NEC road wins. The Altoona, Pa. native ranks first in the conference with five goals, including three game-winners on the season.
 
Choo scores two goals in win over Wagner
Sophomore forward Leanna Choo (Germantown, Md./Northwest) scored two goals to help SFU to the win over the Seahawks. Choo scored on a rebound off the crossbar to give SFU an early 1-0 lead in the sixth minute. The Germantown, Md. native sealed the win with a breakaway goal off an Abigail Tarosky (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) assist in the 89th minute. The goals were Choo's first of the season and she now has three in her career.
 
Graham among NEC's best in assists
Junior midfielder Dakota Graham (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) ranks second in the NEC with five assists. Graham is averaging 0.45 assists per game.
