Newark, NJ- The Saint Francis University Swim team finished up the second day of the Highlander Invitational on a high note. Saint Francis topped all three competitors; Saint Peter's University 250.00 to 73.00, Manhattan College 263.00 to 68.00, and LIU 185.00 to 129.00.
Overview- The Swim team came out on top securing three wins on day two of the Highlander Invitational. It was a team effort, getting some big first place wins.
The 200-yard Medley team of junior
Urska Medvesek (Maribor, Slovenia/Gymnasium Maribor), senior Erin O'Neil, sophomore
Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School), and sophomore
Julia Bradford (Edinboro, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) came in first with a time of 1:50.33.
In the 400-yard IM senior
Karilyn Quon (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) claimed 1
st with a time of 4:38.05 to add to the successful weekend for the senior.
Junior
Katelyn O'Connor (Torrance, Calif./South High) took first in the 100-yard freestyle with a speedy time of 54.28 to as well add ot her successful weekend in the pool.
Sophomore Amelia Laudenback took the 200 yard backstroke with a first place finish in a time of 2:06.66.
Sophomore
Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School) captured first in the 100-yard Butterfly in a quick time of 57.78.
The 500-yard Freestyle winner was junior
Camille Nguyen (Mason, Ohio/Mason) with a time of 5:14.21.
Overall, a successful 3-win weekend for the Red Flash improving their record to 3-1 on the season. Next up for the SFU Red Flash will be another road trip, this time to Brooklyn, NY to take on LIU November 2
nd.
