Saint Francis set to Host Kent State and Detroit Mercy

Loretto, Pa –The Saint Francis lacrosse team (2-4) looks to extend its winning streak with home games vs. Kent State (0-7) on Wednesday, Mar. 20 at 3 p.m. and Detroit Mercy (2-5) on Saturday, Mar. 23 at 1 p.m.
 
Scouting Kent State
 
The Golden Flashes enter Wednesday's match 0-7, losing its most recent outing against Detroit Mercy 12-16. Lluna Katz leads the attack with 10 points on 10 goals. Abby Jones brings it both offensively and defensively for the Golden Flashes. She is the team's top distributor with five assists and poses a scoring threat tallying eight goals. Defensively, she leads the team with eight caused turnovers. Freshman goalkeeper Grace Merrill has made 70 saves and is posting a .424 save percentage in her first collegiate season.  
 
 
Scouting Detroit Mercy 
 
The Titans will enter Saturday's match 2-5, winning its most recent match at Kent State before having a week off to prepare for the Red Flash. Lexie Kinmond paces Detroit Mercy's attack with 32 points on 17 goals and 15 assists. Kaitlyn Wandelt (13), Morgan Girardi (13), and Elise Harder (10) are double-figure goal scorers for the Titans. Wandelt is the defensive leader in caused turnovers with 14 and has collected 27 groundballs to go along with that. Goalkeeper Allison McDonough has posted a .379 save percentage on 66 saves. 
 
Scott top-20
 
Emileigh Scott (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) looks to keep it going after tallying four goals and winning six draw controls in the win over Longwood. In her last two contests, Scott has tallied nine goals and won an impressive 15 draw controls. The sophomore moves into a tie for 16th in Division I in draw controls per game. Scott sits in a tie with Hofstra's Darcie Smith, the two are averaging 6.50 draw control victories per game. 
 
LeConte Leading the Defense
 
The Saint Francis defense is playing its best defense of the year, holding its opponents under 10 goals in back-to-back games. In its last two games, the defense has allowed 17 goals and caused 23 turnovers. Peyton LeConte (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) has been playing at a high-level defensively all-season pressuring the ball and causing teams to turn the ball over. This season, she has caused 13 turnovers, good enough to rank her 18th in Division I in caused turnovers per game. 
 
Attack Remains Balanced
 
Senior Morgan Day (New Park, Pa./Kennard Dale) continues to lead the offense with 14 goals, but the SFU offense has had many contributors. Day (14), Scott (11), and Baker (10) are the three lead scorers reaching double-digit goals. Nine players have scored at least two goals for the Red Flash this season, while 12 players have netted at least one.
