Men's tennis competes at Mount St. Mary's Invitational

Emmitsburg, Md. - Saint Francis men's tennis continued its fall season at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational this weekend.

Junior Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador/Compuinformatica) and freshman Andrew Teixeira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/ETEC Getúlio Vargas) competed for the Red Flash with both winning their first round singles and doubles matches. Pinos defeated Mount's Jacob Berg, 6-1, 6-0, while Teixeira took down the Mountaineers' Dakota Fernandez, 6-1, 6-0. The duo then teamed up in doubles to defeat the same players, 6-4.

In the second round, the Red Flash fell in tight matches. Pinos was knocked off by Mount's Jean Armstrong, 6-3, 7-6 (3), while Teixeira dropped a 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (2) decision to the Mountaineers' Evan Hine. SFU fell to the same pair in doubles, 7-5.

Saint Francis will close its fall season at the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Sept. 20-22.
