Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis men's soccer (2-3-0) closes non-conference play by hosting Duquesne (6-0-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m.
Scouting Duquesne
The Dukes are off to a hot start and have reeled off a school record six straight wins after opening the season with a tie against Bowling Green. Duquesne defeated Oakland, VMI, Niagara, California Baptist, Robert Morris and Saint Joseph's in that stretch. The Dukes are averaging 1.57 goals per game, while allowing only 0.57 goals per outing. Sophomore forward Manel Busquets leads the team with 10 points on four goals and two assists, while senior defender Zach Hall has six points on two goals and two assists. Redshirt senior goalkeeper Robbie McKelvey has been a force for Duquesne, only allowing four goals and recording 38 saves through seven matches.

Saint Francis and Duquesne have had a tight series over the years with a 7-7-4 all-time record. The Red Flash won the past two meetings, including last season's 1-0 victory over the Dukes on Sept. 12, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Gabriel Castro (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Lausanne Collegiate School) in front of the goal and knocked the ball into the back of the net to give the Red Flash a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute. The Atibaia, Brazil native struck again just over 10 minutes later as he scored from the top of the box off a
Kevin Smolyn (Holland, PA/Germantown Academy) assist to give SFU a 2-0 lead in the 42nd minute. It was the first double goal game of Rosa's collegiate career. He has three goals on the season and eight in his collegiate career.

Lucas Canineu (Corbin, Ky/Corbin) and chipped the ball past the goalkeeper as SFU took a 3-0 lead in the 81st minute. The Caldon East, Ontario native scored again in the 84th minute off an assist from Canineu and
CJ Smolyn (Holland, PA/Germantown Academy). The goals were the first of Neil's collegiate career.
