Men's tennis led by Pinos and Teixeira at Bucknell Invitational

Lewisburg, Pa. – Saint Francis men's tennis was led by strong performances from Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador/Compuinformatica) and Andrew Teixeira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/ETEC Getúlio Vargas) in the season opening Bucknell Invitational.

The junior Pinos advanced to the championship match of the singles B flight before falling in two sets. Teixeira won two of his three singles matches in flight C for his collegiate debut. The duo then teamed up to win two matches, including a come from behind victory to capture the doubles B flight championship.

"Only traveling two, our men really stepped it up," head coach Lisa Swope said. "Sebastian played true to form, only dropping the championship match. Our freshman, Andrew, had no nerves, winning two out of his three for his first collegiate singles win."

Saint Francis has a quick turnaround as the Red Flash will play at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational on Sept. 13-14.
