Red Flash travels to Akron, Ohio for first road game of 2020

Akron, Ohio – The Saint Francis University women's lacrosse team travel to Akron, Ohio for a Sunday afternoon match up against the Zips in their inaugural home match. Both teams are looking to pick up their first win of the season.

Scouting Akron
The Zips are in their first year in program history and have competed in three matches this season. Currently freshman Abby McMullen leads the team in goals scored (3) and draw controls (9). Collectively they have proven dominant over opponents in won drawn controls as well as keeping up with shots taken. Freshman goalkeeper Abby Lerch has logged the majority of time in the cage for the Zips. Recently the team fell for fellow NEC Robert Morris 4-18 on Friday, February 21st.

Strong Attack
The Red Flash come off a two-game home stand where they were unable to pick up their first win of the 2020 season. The upper classman has held true to their expectations and are making plays and scoring goals. Currently junior Emileigh Scott (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) has recorded five goals alongside her fellow senior captain Livia Baker (Fallston, Md./Fallston High School) with four. The team looks to continue to add to these numbers and expand their defensive play as well throughout the remainder of the non-conference season.
