Women's tennis set to honor two seniors Saturday

Ebensburg, Pa. – Saint Francis women's tennis will honor two seniors prior to its match with Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 29. First serve at the Ebensburg Tennis Center is set for 10 a.m.

Senior captains Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) and Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) will play their final home match on Saturday. The duo has had stellar four-year careers and have been the top two players for the Red Flash over the past four seasons.

As a freshman, Seigford was named to the NEC All-Rookie team. The Madrid, Spain native was earned NEC Second Team All-Conference honors in singles and doubles her sophomore season.

Gutierrez was also named to the NEC All-Rookie team her freshman season. As a junior, she earned named NEC Second Team All-Conference honors in doubles with teammate Steph Miller.

The pair have also achieved in the classroom, earning the highest team GPA at Saint Francis for the past two semesters. The women's tennis team set the record for the highest Athletics Department GPA ever last spring with a 3.891.
