Nesmith and Norris named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

Gilbert, Ariz. - Senior Taylor Nesmith (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and freshman Carysse Norris (Narvon, Pa./Garden Spot) of the Saint Francis field hockey team were named 2019 Zags Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction on Monday.

The Division I Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year. Nesmith and Norris represent two of just 167 field hockey athletes across Division I to earn the distinction.

Nesmith led Saint Francis in points (20), goals (7) and assists (6) during her final campaign in a Red Flash uniform. She will wrap-up her fantastic career with 15 career goals and 12 assists.

Norris saw action in all 19 contests in her debut season with six starts.
