Field hockey adds four more student-athletes

Loretto, Pa. - Saint Francis head field hockey coach Betta Ceretta added four student-athletes to the 2020 roster. The quartet brings the class total to nine as five signed back in November. You can read about the earlier signees here.

Of the four to sign after the initial signing period, two are transfers and two are incoming freshmen. Three of the four signees are from Canada.

F Lauren Alderson (Vancouver, Canada / University of Waterloo)

Alderson transfers from the University of Waterloo, where she played for one season in 2017.

Alderson played for the B.C. Provincial Team from 2017-19 and played in the Canadian National Championships. While at Collingwood High School, she was named Player of the Game at the Polar Bear Tournament in 2016 and the BC ISAA's. She led the Cavaliers to the Provincial Championship as a junior in 2015-16. She added eight goals as a senior as Collingwood placed second. 

A member of the Meralomas Premier Club Team, Alderson scored the winning goal in the championship game to help her club when the league championship.

D Joevonna Barnwell (Woonsocket, R.I./Woonsocket) (Woonsocket, R.i / Woonsocket H.S. / Coker University)

Barnwell appeared in 10 games as a freshman at Coker University in 2018, registering one shot. She attended Woonsocket High School where she played field hockey and ran track. At Woonsocket, she was a three-time all-star, First Team All-Division selection and member of the high honor roll and National Honors Society. 

F/M Francesca Primomo (Ontario, Canada/St. Michael Catholic) (Ontario, Canada / St. Michael Catholic)

Primomo was a three-time Team MVP at St. Michael Catholic Secondary School. She was also a member of the Goa Reds Field Hockey Club that won the gold medal at the Ontario Winter Games

M/D Hannah Rohrer (Ontario, Canada/St. John's-Kilmarnock) (Ontario, Canada / St. John's-Kilmarnock)

Rohrer was a four-time Team MVP at St. John's Kimarnock and the winner of the Guy Zink Athletic Award. She led the SJK Eagles to a State Championship in 2018-19. Rohrer played club for A&C Field Hockey Academy.
