The men and women's cross country teams competed in the Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday, October 30 at the Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
Finishing at the top for the men was Zachary Kohler (Warriors Mark, Pa./Tyrone Area) (9th place, 26:22.70) and finishing first for the women was Mackenzie Walker (Indiana, Pa./Marion Center) (7th place, 18:47.50).
The men's race began at 11 am in the morning and following Kohler was Brenden Miller (Millersburg, Pa./Upper Dauphin) (15th place, 26:51.00), Shane Curran (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (26th place, 27:37.00), Matthew Berzonsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) (37th place, 28:01.80), and Daniel Kelly (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) (47th place, 28:47.80).
An hour later the women started their race at noon. Following the leading Walker was, Alyssa Deschler (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) (15th place, 19:14.80), Monica Gregg (Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) (16th place, 19:15.90), Tesslyn Helms (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic) (17th place, 19:16.90), and Naomi Hillen (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) (20th place, 19:20.40).
The next cross country race is the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship taking place on November 12 at the Goodman Campus Course in Bethlehem, Pa.
