» Marc-Antoine Hotte (Maschouche, Quebec) leads the Saint Francis men's golf team after the first day of the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, sitting in 17th place after the opening round on Monday.
» Hotte shot an even-par round of 72 after posting birdies on holes seven and 17, a bogie on eight and a double bogey on 18. He sits three strokes behind the current leader.
» The Red Flash sit in eighth place with a score of 293 in the 13-team field.
» The event was scheduled to be two rounds on Monday, but due to the weather only one round was played.
FLASH MOMENTS
Luke Minsky (Wexford, Pa.) finished the first round one stroke behind Hotte with a round of 73 in 23rd place. Minsky recorded birdies on holes three, nine and 16, while bogeying two, five, seven, 11 and 14 to finish the afternoon one over par.
Alex Kiepert (Ebensburg, Pa.) notched birdies on holes one and nine with bogeys on two, five, seven, 11 and 17 to finish the day with a 74 in 36th place. Nathan Godbout (St. George, Vt.) also finished with a 74 and in 36th place. Godbout had a birdie on 17 and bogeys on five, 11, 13 and 14.
J.W. Cunningham (McMurray, Pa.) rounded out the team players, finishing in 64th place with a score of 78. Cunningham had a birdie on nine, bogeys on two, 10 and 16, a double bogey on three and a triple bogey on eight.
Saint Francis shot a 293 in the first round to sit in eighth place, nine strokes behind Butler (283). Along with Butler, Oakland (284), Dayton (287), Green Bay (290), DePaul (292) and Purdue Fort Wayne (292) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field.
