Mekenzie Saban was named a Top Performer for her play last weekend against Gardner-Webb and Toledo.
Saban led the Saint Francis offense last weekend during a trip to play Gardner-Webb and Toledo. Saban was 10-of-15 (.667) with two doubles and a home run on the weekend, also leading the team in runs (8), RBI (5), total bases (15), slugging percentage (1.000) and on-base percentage (.706). She drew two walks and was a perfect 2-of-2 on the base path.Â
Saban tallied three multi-hit games last weekend. She was a perfect 3-of-3 with three runs, four RBI, a home run, a double, a walk and two stolen bases as the Red Flash scored a season-high 13 runs to shutout Gardner-Webb. In the second game against Gardner-Webb, Saban was 4-of-5 with three runs and an RBI. She also recorded a multi-hit game in the first meeting with Toledo, finishing 2-of-4 with a double and a run. Saban reached base safely at least twice and scored at least once each game. This season, she leads the SFU offense in batting average (.383), at-bats (60), runs (18), hits (23), doubles (8), total bases (37) and slugging percentage (.617)
Saban was named Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week earlier today. She was named an NEC Prime Performer on March 2.
