Senior Day to precede Saturday showdown with LIU

LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's lacrosse team will honor its eight seniors and then look to improve its standing in the NEC tournament race when the Red Flash hosts LIU on Saturday at DeGol Field.
 
Saint Francis will honor seniors Livia Baker, Amanda Heidt, Sam Scott, Katie Page, Shea Moran, Emileigh Scott, Katie Kincaid, and Peyton LeConte in a pregame ceremony.

SCOUTING THE SHARKS
LIU is 8-2 overall and 6-2 in NEC games after a 12-11 win over Merrimack last Saturday. The Sharks are currently in second place in the conference standings, a half-game up on Wagner and two games ahead of the Red Flash.
 
Paige Sherlock leads the Sharks with 19 goals on the year, while Rachel Masullo and Francesca Vasile-Cozzo are tied at a team-high 27 points. Masullo's 6.2 draw controls per game rank 19th nationally, while the Sharks' 64.1% success rate on the draw is fourth in the nation.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Saint Francis is 6-12 all-time against LIU, which assumed the records of LIU Brooklyn when the Blackbirds merged with LIU Post following the 2019 season. The teams have met once already this season, as the Sharks defeated the Red Flash 11-7 on March 24 on Long Island. Senior Emileigh Scott scored three goals to lead Saint Francis.
 
LAST TIME OUT: BRYANT 14, SAINT FRANCIS 12
Senior Emileigh Scott scored four goals and junior Elyssa Enrique made a career-high 18 saves, but Bryant battled back in the second half to spoil Saint Francis' bid for a key road win last Saturday in Rhode Island.
 
RECORD PLAYER
Senior Emileigh Scott enters Saturday five goals back of Kate Simmons for second in program history and two points shy of Jessica Mazzur for fourth in the program record book. Scott currently stands at 131 goals, 146 points, and a program-record 321 draw controls, which is tied for fourth among active Division I players.
 
CAUSE AND EFFECT
Redshirt senior Peyton LeConte has recorded 27 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers in 2021. LeConte's 2.67 caused turnovers per game are fourth in the nation and she begins Saturday four shy of 100 for her career.
SUPER SAVER
Junior Elyssa Enrique ranks seventh nationally in save percentage at .510 through nine games. Enrique has turned aside 11.33 shots per game, which is fifth in the nation.
 
3 FROM 8 = GOAL
Redshirt senior Livia Baker is ninth in the nation in converting on free-position opportunities, converting on 10 of 14 chances (71.4%). Baker's 10 free-position goals on the year rank in the top 25 nationally.
 
UP NEXT: MOUNT ST. MARY'S
Saint Francis will travel to Emmitsburg on Wednesday for a showdown with first-place Mount St. Mary's. Opening draw is slated for 3 p.m. on NEC Front Row.
