LORETTO, Pa. – Senior midfielder
Lucas Rosa was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team on Thursday. Rosa earned a 3.89 cumulative GPA in accounting.
Rosa put together his most impressive campaign as a junior in 2019. He was named Northeast Conference Player of the Year and All-NEC First Team. Rosa also earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches' All-Northeast Region Team and became the only player in program history to be named to the College Soccer News All-America Third Team. He accomplished another first for the Saint Francis men's soccer program when he was selected to the United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-American First Team and was also named Scholar All-East Region. Rosa capped the 2019 season with 11 goals, six of which were game-winners, and two assists for 24 total points. He started in all 16 matches and twice earned NEC Player of the Week honors.
Rosa began his collegiate career with an NEC All-Rookie team selection in 2017 as he started 16 of 17 matches during his freshman season. He totaled four goals and three assists during his rookie campaign, twice being named NEC Rookie of the Week. Rosa scored an overtime goal against UNLV in September and landed on Sportscenter's Top 10 in October with a goal against NJIT.
