THE WORD ON THE KNIGHTS
Fairleigh Dickinson is 4-5-1 on the season with nonconference wins against Lafayette and Navy and Northeast Conference (NEC) wins against Sacred Heart and Merrimack. The program is currently third in the NEC standings behind St. Francis Brooklyn and LIU.
Last season they finished 8-7-3 overall and 6-1-2 in the conference. The Knights lost in the 2021 NEC Tournament semifinals to St. Francis Brooklyn, 1-2.
Returning for the program is First Team All-NEC honoree Hugo Bacharach, forward Tony Gomez and goalkeeper Spencer King. Bacharach and Gomez lead the Knights with two goals and one assist apiece on the season. King has allowed 11 goals and faced 109 shots in nine matches.
The Knights are under the direction of Seth Roland, who is in his 26th season as head coach. Fairleigh Dickinson was voted third in the NEC preseason poll.
LAST TIME WE MET
Saint Francis fell to Fairleigh Dickinson last season in New Jersey, 0-2. The Knights lead the all-time series over Saint Francis 7-6-6 with matches dating back to 2005.
