Cunningham And Minsky Fuel Saint Francis Men's Golf After First Day At Bash At The Beach

Cunningham (McMurray, Pa.) and Luke Minsky (Wexford, Pa.) are tied for 74th place after the first two rounds to lead the Saint Francis University men's golf team at the Bash at the Beach hosted by Appalachian State on Monday. » Cunningham shot a 74 in the opening round and a 77 in the second round, while Minsky posted the best round of the day with a first round of 71 and a second round of 80 to each post a two-round score of 151. » Minsky posted birdies on two and 12 in the first round and on the first hole in the second round, while Cunningham had four birdies in the first round (eight, 11, 15 and 16) and three in the second round (five, 12, and 15). » The Red Flash are 14th after two rounds. <div>FLASH MOMENTS Marc-Antoine Hotte (Mascouche, Quebec) is one stroke behind Cunningham and Minsky with a 152 in 78th place. Hotte shot a 77 in the opening round and then carded the team's best second round with a 75. He had two birdies in the second round on five and 17. Nathan Godbout (St. George, Vt.) is two strokes behind Hotte with a 154 in 84th place. Godbout posted a 75 in the first round and a 79 in the second round of the day. He posted four birdies in the first round on one, two, five and 11. Alex Kiepert (Ebensburg, Pa.) rounded out the five team competitors in 87th place with a two-round score of 156. He carded a 76 in the first round and an 80 in the second round. Kiepert posted birdies on one, six and seven in the first round and then birdied the first hole again in the final round of the day. Caleb DeBass (Forest, Va.) (94th place, 166) and A.J. Marasco-Keene (Altoona, Pa.) (97th place, 176) competed as individuals in both rounds. DeBass had a birdie on the third hole. Gregory Caldwell (Lilly, Pa.) played the first round and had a birdie on 17, but withdrew in the second round. Troy leads the event with a score of 553, five strokes ahead of host Appalachian State (558). LIU (559), UPenn "B" (561) and UConn (563) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Red Flash shot a 296 in the first round and 311 in the second round to sit in 14th place with a two-round score of 607. UP NEXT Saint Francis returns to action on Tuesday in the final round of the Bash at the Beach.</div>
