Men's Basketball Rounds Out Coaching Staff For 2022-23

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's basketball head coach Rob Krimmel has announced that Oliver Allen and Denzel Mobley have joined his staff as graduate assistants.
 
oliver allen hsAllen, a 2022 graduate of Vermont, comes to Loretto after serving as a team manager at Vermont for four seasons, including being elevated to head team manager for his last two years. He also worked with the United States U-18 Select Team at the Albert Schweitzer Tournament in Manheim, Germany as a student assistant in March of 2016 and 2018.
 
"I am excited to have Oliver join our staff," said Krimmel. "He comes from a great family and he worked closely with an extremely successful basketball program during his time at Vermont.  Oliver's understanding of how to utilize technology, understanding of the game, and his passion for coaching will have an immediate impact on our program." 
 
denzel mobley hsMobley, a 2022 graduate of Saint Francis, served as an assistant coach for Pennsylvania Highlands Community College and was also an Esports Team Assistant Manager for the 2021-22 season. He also served as a team manager for the Red Flash men's basketball team as an undergraduate student.
 
"I am excited to welcome Denzel back to Saint Francis basketball," said Krimmel. "Denzel's passion and energy are unmatched.  He was a valuable member of our program during his time as an undergraduate manager and I know he will have an impact on our student-athletes in his new role as a graduate assistant." 
 
The duo will assist Krimmel for his 11th season as the head coach at Saint Francis. Andrew Helton returns for his eighth season as the associate head coach and his 13th season overall in Loretto after serving as an assistant coach under Tom McConnell from 1994-99. Eric Taylor, who was inducted into the Saint Francis Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022, begins his 10th season as an assistant coach. Luke McConnell will be in his second season as an assistant coach and 10th overall after serving as the Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) for eight seasons, while Joe Causgrove replaced McConnell in the DOBO role and is in his second season with the Red Flash.
 
The staff includes four Saint Francis University graduates. Krimmel came to Saint Francis in the fall of 1996, graduated in 2000 and then immediately joined the staff as an assistant coach. This season will be his 27th-consecutive season as a player, assistant coach or head coach in Loretto. Taylor is a 1998 graduate of Saint Francis and Luke McConnell is a 2012 graduate after playing on the Red Flash football team. Mobley joins the brethren of alums to sit on the men's basketball sidelines this year.
