Valentini Finds Cage Twice In 3-2 Loss To Drexel

>> Despite two goals from Eva Valentini (Junin, Argentina), Saint Francis fell to Drexel 3-2 in non-conference field hockey action on Friday.
>> Julia Breneman (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Olivia Muffitt (Newport, Pa.) assisted on Valentini's second goal.
>> Amber Bryan (Thorndale, Pa.) turned away three shots in the first half, while Chloe South (California, Md.) made one stop in the final 30 minutes.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
After Valentini tied the game for the second time in the 35th minute, the Dragons posted the decisive goal with 10 minutes and 58 seconds left on the clock. The Red Flash did not register a shot in the final 25 minutes of the match.

FLASH MOMENTS
did not hold the lead long after Valentini scored unassisted eight seconds after the Dragons first score to tie the match at 1 at 17:08.
 
The hosts took the lead again in the 34th minute, but Valentini did not allow them to hold the lead for more than a minute after she found the cage for the second time on the afternoon 53 seconds after Drexel's second goal.

FLASH NUGGETS
Valentini notched her second multi-goal performance after scoring a pair of goals against Ohio University on September 19, 2021. The sophomore has posted a point in 14 of the 18 games the Red Flash has scored in her two-year career, including 10 matches with at least one goal. She has posted a point in every game Saint Francis has scored this year and fuels the team with four markers and two assists for 10 points, and now has 12 tallies and eight assists for 32 points in 25 games. Valentini can move into the Top-10 in program history with five points.
 
Breneman has dished out an assist in three of the four games the Loretto program has scored this year and her four assists lead the team. Breneman now has six goals and four assists for 16 points in her career. 
 
Muffitt notched her first career assist on the afternoon. The junior now has three goals and an assist for seven points in her career.
