Planas Named Northeast Conference Prime Performer

SOMERSET, N.J. – Saint Francis men's soccer forward Álvaro Planas has been named a Northeast Conference Prime Performer, the conference announced Monday.

Planas came off the bench to score the 84th minute match winner against NEC opponent Central Connecticut State on Sunday. The freshman now leads the team with three goals on the season. Planas has come off the bench for the Red Flash almost every match this season registering over 350 minutes.

The Valladolid, Spain native has been named a Prime Performer twice this season. He was named Rookie of the Week and a Prime Performer for his match opening goal against nonconference Canisius in August.

With Sunday's victory, Saint Francis now has seven points in conference play trailing FDU who leads the NEC with eight points. The Knights have played four matches in conference already.

The Red Flash are on a nine match undefeated streak, tied for the longest in program history.

Saint Francis will return to action on Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m. against Le Moyne in Syracuse, New York.
