Softball Adds Four in Signing Class of 2024

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University softball announces the addition of four players in the 2024 signing class. All-four of the student-athletes signed their National Letter of Intent in early November.
 
"We are really excited to bring in this group of young women who believe in Saint Francis and the culture of excellence here," said head coach Beth Krysiak. "These four student-athletes are going to bring a lot of energy, pride and talent to help Saint Francis continue to compete in the Northeast Conference."
 
AB Cipalla | C/OF | Erie, Pa. | Harbor Creek High School
Cipalla is a team captain and four-year letter winner at Harbor Creek. She has accumulated a .458 batting average, 70 hits, 28 doubles and a .520 on-base percentage in her career. She is a two-time All-State catcher, two-time District 10 Team and two-time Region 5 Team honoree. Harbor Creek is a two-time District 10 and Region 5 Champion during her career.
 
A member of National Honor Society and Honor Roll student, Cipalla intends to major in Business at Saint Francis.
 
"I chose Saint Francis because it felt like home and kept me close to my family," said Cipalla. "I enjoyed meeting my future teammates and the new coaching staff in place here."
 
Addison Deal | P/1B | New Castle, Pa. | Laurel High School
Deal is a three-year letter winner at Laurel, where she was a two-way player. She held an 11-1 record with 111 strikeouts and 13 walks on the mound, while she hit .431 with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs in her career. She is a three-time All-State and County All-Star selection. Laurel is a one-time WPIAL 2A Champion and Runner-Up in her career.
 
An Honor Roll student, Deal intends to major in Accounting at Saint Francis.
 
"I chose Saint Francis because it feels like home and is very welcoming," said Deal. "On the visit after signing it was fun to see the campus and meet my future teammates."
 
Morgan Pasternak | OF | Dubois, Pa. | Dubois Area High School
Pasternak is a three-year letter winner and team captain at Dubois Area. She has a .425 batting average with 68 runs scored, 11 triples, five home runs and 62 RBIs in her high school career. She is a two-time PAHSBCA All-State, three-time North Allegheny Large School All-Star and two-time Central Penn League All-Star selection.
 
An Honor Roll student, Pasternak intends to major in Nursing at Saint Francis.
 
"I chose Saint Francis because it immediately checked all the boxes, I loved the atmosphere and it instantly felt like home," said Pasternak. "I enjoyed the chance to get back on campus and meet the coaching staff and the team."
 
Addie Smith | C/INF | Guilford, Conn. | Guilford High School
Smith is a three-year varsity letter winner who hit .500 with 26 runs scored, six home runs, 30 RBIs and nine stolen bases during her junior season. She is a two-time CHSCA Class L All-State, three-time All-SCC team and two-time New Haven All-Area Team selection.
 
She intends to major in Exercise Physiology at Saint Francis. 
 
"I chose Saint Francis because of the family environment," said Smith. "On my visit it was fun to meet my future teammates and see my future home."
 
The group of four skilled players will join Saint Francis in August of 2024 ahead of the 2025 season.
