LAST TIME OUTÂ
Last week saw the Red Flash compete at the Bison Outdoor Classic. The teams combined for two first place finishes and 28 top-eight performances.Â
Nicklas Hyde was named Northeast Conference Field Athlete of the Week and NEC Prime Performer after placing first in hammer throw with a mark of 46.25m. The graduate student from Somerset, Pa. finished second in shot put invite with an NEC-leading throw of 17.01m. He lastly took sixth after recording a throw of 45.58m at the discus invite.
David Niang earned NEC Prime Performer after finishing first in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.30. He also placed fourth on the 4x100 relay team with himself, Bryce Baker, Julian Saunders, and Jadon Kendrick with a time of 42.11.
Alaban-Tafon took third in the 400m dash with an NEC-leading time of 56.69. She also finished fifth in the 4x400 relay alongside Tesslyn Helms, Sarah Colman, and Gabriella del Pielago with a time of 4:01.72. On the 4x200 relay team of herself, del Pielago, Sydney Rush and Paige Drake, they finished sixth with a time of 1:43.87. Rounding out the event finishes for the Glen Burnie, Md. native is taking ninth as a part of the 4x100 relay team of Drake, Rush and Maria Ferraro, clocking in a time of 48.65.
RED FLASH AT BISON OUTDOOR CLASSIC HISTORY
The last time that Saint Francis competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic was during the 2023 outdoor season. The Red Flash took home 11 top-10 finishes, including second place from the 4x100 relay team of Baker, Niang, Saunders and Ardonntrell Williams. Their time of 40.99 is second all-time in school history.
