Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis men's volleyball was one of the teams that earned the 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award presented by INTENT, the organization announced Monday.
The award goes to teams that accumulated a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0, 4.10 or 5.0 scale. The Red Flash maintained a team GPA of 3.39 during the 2023-24 academic year. The team had six players that made College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large and two that earned CSC Academic All-America honors.
This year marks the eight straight time that Saint Francis has received the award, having earned it between 2017-23. It is the second academic team award that the squad has received after taking home the Northeast Conference (NEC) Team GPA award for having the best grade point average out of every men's volleyball program in the NEC.
