TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME

Cleveland State leveled the match on a shot from Bella Delfino in the 40th minute.
Neither side could find the back of the net in the second half despite numerous opportunities.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After Pyle's first minute opener, there was not much to separate the two sides in the opening period.
The Red Flash weathered a long Cleveland State offensive build-up before finally conceding a goal.
Cleveland State had three shots in quick succession shortly after their equalizer. Sawich saved all three of them in a clinical goalkeeping display to keep the match level heading into the break.
The Red Flash came out of the half by building up pressure on the Vikings in the attacking half.
In the 50th minute, Mercedez Paino fired the first Red Flash shot since the opening minute, but it landed in the arms of the keeper.
Korpics would get a shot off just minutes later. It was saved as well.
Korpics would track down a long ball in the 57th minute and fire a shot on goal, only to be denied again.
Shortly thereafter, Dziesiaty nearly found Paino in front of goal with a through ball but hit the pass just a little too hard.
Pyle would look to score again in the 60th minute from a free kick in a dangerous spot but sailed it high.
Alyssa Mella created a chance to score when she won the ball back high up the field and found Korpics in the box. Her shot would be denied.
In the 66th minute the Vikings had a dangerous opportunity brewing in the 18-yard box, but Rory Schaeffer snuffed it out. Cleveland State would get another opportunity seconds later. This time Sawich slid in and scooped the ball up.
In the 83rd minute, Schaeffer hit an excellent long pass for Rita Kendziora. The chance ended up fizzling out.
In the 88th minute, Pyle tried to fire a long shot towards goal, but her shot was deflected.
Korpics tried a last gasp effort from miles out, but it bounced into the arms of the keeper.
"While it wasn't our greatest performance today, it was step forward and another step in our process" Diaz said.
