>> Saint Francis University Cross Country is back in action at the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by CCSU Saturday, September 21. It will be held at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
>> The Stanley Quarter Park will be the site of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1.
>> The women's 5k race will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the men's 8k race will follow at 12:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash opened the season by hosting the Father Bede Invitational on Aug. 31. The women's team finished 3rd out of 6 teams with 57 points while the men placed fourth with 97 points.
Nina Connors earned NEC Rookie of the Week after taking 25th with a time of 15:49.9. That time was the fifth-best among Red Flash women runners.
Naomi Hillen (14:43.6),
Tesslyn Helms (14:45.9), and Anna Quackenush (14:52.4) were named NEC Prime Performers for finishing fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively.
Morgan McNaughton had the fourth-best time, placing 21st with a time of 15:34.1.
For the men's team,
Aaron Tressler took the top spot in 16th with a time of 20:16.4.
John Flynn Jr. followed behind in 19th with a time of 20:24.5.
Shane Curran (20:48.1),
Andrew McGee (20:58.9) and
Joseph Piccirillo (21:00.7) rounded out the top-5 by coming in 27th, 28th and 29th, respectively.
RED FLASH AT TED OWEN INVITATIONAL HISTORY
As of 2009, Saint Francis previously competed at the Ted Owen Invitational three times. The last trip to New Britain was in 2017. The men's team finished 2nd out of 9 teams in the 8k race, including a first place finish from Bryce England (25:49.9). Michael Strosko (27:21.1) and Zachary White (27:30.0) also placed in the top-10 at eighth and 10th, respectively.
The women's team placed 2nd out of 11 teams in the 5k race. Madison Wright paced the squad, taking seventh with a time of 18:48.6. Morgan Kiebler followed behind in ninth with a time of 18:55.8.

The teams will travel to Bethlehem, PA to compete in the 50th annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday, October 5. It will be held at Goodman Campus Course.
