SELECT GAME NOTES VS. FDUÂ (FULLÂ GAME NOTES PDF)
FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• Sunday's game between Saint Francis and FDU marks the 105th meeting in the all-time series, dating back to January 12, 1955. While it may not be a red-letter date in the history of science: November 5, 1955, when Doc Brown invented time travel, marking a significant day in the history of science, it is heavy that the two teams battle again on the 70th Anniversary of the first meeting.
• The significance of the 1954-55 season and what happened in the game before is rarer than finding plutonium in every drug store: "I'm sure that in 1985, plutonium is available in every corner drugstore, but in 1955, it's a little hard to come by." January 8, 1955, the Frankies, yes, the Frankies, defeated No. 2 Duquesne 82-72 for the team's first-ever win against a ranked opponent. The next game was the first trip to FDU and a 75-62 win against the Knights on January 12, 1955.
• The Knights lead the all-time series with Saint Francis 53-51 after winning the last three; FDU is also 31-18 at home against the Red Flash."
• Saint Francis freshman
Jeremy Clayville is the son of 1992 FDU graduate Sue Steele. Steele was a four-year letterwinner on the Knights women's basketball team and a member of their only two NEC titles in 1990 and 1992. Clayville, a native of Ridgewood, N.J., played many times in the building now known as Bogota Savings Bank Arena, including attending camps. Clayville is one of five Division I players currently playing at their parent's rival college. The Red Flash also has freshman
Victor Payne, whose father, also named Victor, played four years at CCSU from 2006-10 and helped the Blue Devils to its first NEC title in 2000. The Saint Francis duo are the only players to have their parents win a championship.
• FDU will honor Tom Green, its legendary head coach who helped put the Northeast Conference on the map. Green was 31-18 against the Red Flash as a head coach. Green was the Knights' head coach during Saint Francis head coach
Rob Krimmel's four years as a student-athlete (1996-00) and his first nine years as an assistant coach (2000-09). The Knights were 5-2 against the Flash from 1996-00 and 10-5 from 2000-09. Since Green left Hackensack, Saint Francis is 18-14 against FDU since Green left. Green's last game in New Jersey was a 69-56 win against the Frankies on January 22, 2009, while his final game against Saint Francis was a 78-59 loss at DeGol Arena on February 28, 2009. Green is the all-time winningest head coach in NEC games, with 263 wins. Green and Krimmel are two of the 12 head coaches in NEC history who have won 100 league games. Krimmel is the active leader with 101 wins, sitting in 12th place, and can move into 11th place with four wins and the Top 10 with eight wins.
• Saint Francis begins its first conference road trip looking for its first two-game winning streak since defeating St. Francis Brooklyn 72-64 on February 16, 2023, and LIU 93-82 on February 18, 2023. The win against the Sharks was the last road win for the Red Flash. The Frankies are looking to end an eight-game NEC road losing streak.
• The three-game road trip continues in six days after Saint Francis travels back to Loretto after the game at FDU and then returns to the New York Metropolitan area in six days for games at LIU (January 18) and Wagner (January 20).

ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
• FDU comes into the contest winners of two straight and with a 6-11 overall record and a 2-0 mark in NEC play after a 91-86 overtime win at Le Moyne on Friday.Â
• The Knights had a 131 ranking for its non-conference schedule after playing three quad one teams, four quad three teams and five quad four teams. The Knights' best non-conference win was an 85-82 win against Manhattan in Hackensack on November 17.
• Terrance Brown paced the Knights with 25 points (15 of his 25 points in overtime), nine rebounds, and five assists against the Dolphins. Jo'el Emanuel (19 points), Dylan Jones (12 points), Cameron Tweedy (12 points), and Bismark Nsiah (11 points) also found double figures.
• Brown leads the NEC with 21.8 points per game. He powers the Knights in rebounding (6.3 rpg.), assists (56), and steals (33), and ranks second in blocks (11). Emanuel is second on the team with 10.8 points per game, and Jones is third with 10.6 points per game.
LAST TIME WE MET
• FDU defeated Saint Francis 93-74 in Hackensack on February 17, 2024.
• Eli Wilborn paced the Red Flash with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Bobby Rosenberger III (15 points), Carlos Lopez, Jr. (14 points), Ace Talbert (10 points), and Miles Webb (10 points) also posted double figures.Â
• Ansley Almonor powered the Knights with 21 points. Sean Moore (18 points), Terrance Brown (15 points), Jo'el Emanuel (14 points), and Jameel Mooris (11 points) registered 10+ points.Â
LAST TIME OUT
• Junior
Valentino Pinedo registered eight of his career-high 18 points in a decisive 20-5 run to power Saint Francis to its first NEC win of the year with a 73-59 win against Mercyhurst on Friday.
• Freshman
Jeremy Clayville (17 points), junior
Riley Parker (13 points), and sophomore
Bobby Rosenberger III (10 points) also found double figures in the win.
• It was a stat-stuffing game with Pinedo, Parker and Rosenberger hauling in six rebounds each, and Parker (6 assists) and Clayville (5 assists) dishing out the rock. Freshman
Juan Cranford, Jr. tallied nine points, five rebounds, and three steals.
• Saint Francis got the band back together with the return of the SFU Pep Band and improved to 4-1, with the band ready to lead the war with the Red Flash. The team is 1-2 at home when band, cheer, and dance are not in attendance.
TRENDING UP
• Junior
Valentino Pinedo scored double figures in his last five games, which is the second-longest consecutive scoring streak on the team this season. Freshman
Juan Cranford, Jr. posted seven straight games, while junior
Riley Parker and sophomore
Bobby Rosenberger III also had five consecutive games with 10+ points early this season. Along with Pinedo's streak, Parker has scored in four straight games, and Rosenberger has scored in the last two for the only three active streaks on the team.
• Pinedo is averaging 13.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during his five-game 10+ point streak. He started the streak with two 14-point performances (third-highest total in his career) and notched a personal-high 18 points against Mercyhurst on January 10. The junior has grabbed at least five boards in all five games.
• Freshman
Jeremy Clayville made the most of his first career start with 17 points against Mercyhurst. The 17 points were the most he has scored versus an NCAA Division I team after posting a career-high 21 points against Penn State Schuylkill on November 20. The last time the freshman had 10 points was when he scored double figures in three straight contests, and he is looking to register double figures in consecutive games for the third time in his career. Clayville also had five assists against the Lakers for the third time he has dished out at least five assists this season. Rosenberger, a native of Quakertown, Pa., has posted double figures eight out of 10 times in his home state. Clayville, a native of Ridgewood, N.J., will attempt to have similar numbers against his home state.
• Parker is averaging 16.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.0 rebounds per game in his four-game stretch in double figures. He has two games with at least 19 points in his last four tilts. It is the fifth time this season the junior has hauled in at least six boards, the fifth time he has dished out at least five assists, and the second time Parker has had 10+ points, six rebounds, and five assists in a game after registering 14 points, seven rebounds, and five helpers against Radford on December 1.
• Rosenberger finished precisely with 10 points for the fourth time this season. The sophomore had 10 points in each of the first three games to start the 2024-25 season. He leads the team with 13 double-figure point games this season. Rosenberger also has grabbed six rebounds seven times on the year.
• The basketball game sounds easy if you lead at halftime, shooting 50 percent, outrebounding the opponent, and holding the opponent under 59 points. Saint Francis is 5-2 when it leads at halftime, 6-1 when it shoots better than 50 percent from the floor, 6-0 when it outrebounds an opponent, 4-0 when it allows 59 points or less, and 6-0 when it scores more than the opponent.Â
