Mosbacher Earns Second Career NEC Prime Performer

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis men's volleyball's Michael Mosbacher claimed Northeast Conference (NEC) prime performer for his performances against #18 UC San Diego, #1 UCLA, and #2 Long Beach State during the first week of the season, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Red Flash played against the top two teams in the country and another top 20 opponent to open their season.

Mosbacher showed out with overall statistics of 26 kills, eight digs, two blocks, and two aces over the course of the three matches to earn his second career prime performer. In his first career starts at opposite, the senior registered nine kills (.300 hitting percentage) against the Tritons and Bruins. He added four digs to his stat line versus UCLA.

The senior outside hitter registered his first prime performer on March 12, 2024 after posting 38 kills, 15 digs, six aces, and four blocks overall in three match vs Edward Waters, Fort Valley State, and Tusculum.

Mosbacher and the men's volleyball team will be back in action in Chicago when they take on #8 Loyola Chicago and Rockhurst at Loyola Chicago's Gentile Arena Jan. 17-18. The match against the Ramblers will be at 8:00 p.m. EST/7:00 p.m. CST on the 17th and the following day's battle versus the Hawks will be at 2:00 p.m. EST/1:00 p.m. CST. The first battle with Loyola will be the fourth-straight match versus a AVCA top 20 opponent.
