Three Red Flash standouts were recognized by the NEC this week, as Álvaro Planas, Diego Garciarena, and Alex De Nittis each earned Prime Performer honors.
Planas (Valladolid, Spain) struck twice in the victory over New Haven, finding the net twice in a two-minute span. He added a shot on goal in the loss at Howard to continue his strong attacking form. It's his third career Prime Performer honor and second of the 2025 season. Through 13 games this season, Planas has 4 goals, 2 assists, 10 points, 11 shots, and 5 shots on goal. This is his third career NEC Prime Performer honor and second of the 2025 season.
Garciarena (Asunción, Paraguay) posted a career-high seven saves against New Haven and followed by allowing just one goal in the 1–0 loss at Howard (Oct. 19). It's his second consecutive week earning NEC Prime Performer recognition as he continues to anchor the Red Flash defense. Through nine starts this season, he has logged 810 minutes in net with 27 saves, two shutouts, and a 1.67 goals-against average, anchoring a Red Flash defense that has allowed just 15 goals over the first nine matches.
De Nittis (Dortmund, Germany) recorded a career-best five points in the 5–1 win over New Haven, scoring twice and adding an assist. His performance capped a three-match scoring streak that ended at Howard, where he still produced four shots, including one on goal to test the keeper. De Nittis is currently leading the NEC in points per game with an average of 1.43, totaling 10 points in only seven games played, and ranks second in game-winning goals with two. Over seven appearances this season, he has accumulated goals against LIU, Chicago State, and New Haven, and multiple shots on goal in nearly every contest. This marks his second career NEC Prime Performer selection.
