TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
During Saint Francis' conference matchup with CCSU Sunday, the pressure was being put on the Red Flash early on through the match as the Blue Devils kept control of the ball for the majority.Â
During the entirety of the first half, only one shot was made on goal by the Red Flash compared to CCSU's nine. Within the last 10 seconds of the first half, CCSU capitalized on a corner kick putting one in the back of the Saint Francis' net.
During the second half, possession of the ball was equal between both teams, however no team could complete the play by putting one between the posts.
FLASH MOMENTSÂ
Riley Kerr had a scoring opportunity at 8:18 from just outside the box but was saved by the Blue Devils goalkeeper. Kerr tried for another at 55:20, however, was blocked by a CCSU defender.Â
Meredith Artz had an opportunity of her own at 53:32 but was saved by CCSU's goalkeeper.Â
Angelina Kasak, coming off the bench attacking and had a scoring chance at 55:32 but missed right.Â
Raine Korpics, after a foul call, used a free kick to launch one towards the goal, but landed in the arms of the CCSU's goalkeeper at 72:05. Â
FLASH NUGGETS
Sawich made 13 saves for the Red Flash. This is the second highest amount of saves recorded for Sawich this season. This is the seventh game where she has recorded at least eight saves during a match, breaking last season's mark with six games of eight saves or more.
