Meyers And Saint Francis Men's Golf Take Top Billing At New York/Pennsylvania DI Quad Match

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Trent Meyers won the New York/Pennsylvania D1 Quad Match after shooting a two-under-par on Monday to lead the Saint Francis men's golf team to the team title.
>> Meyers posted eight birdies, five pars, four bogeys, and a double bogey to edge out his teammate Alex Yong by two strokes for individual medalist honors. It is the first time the Loretto program had an individual medalist since Austin Renz at the Bucknell Invitational on October 8, 2017.
>> The Red Flash shot five-over par to earn the team crown by two strokes over host Mercyhurst. It is the first team title for Saint Francis since winning the Colonial Golf Classic on October 8, 2013. 

FLASH MOMENTS
Yong finished second after ending the event with an even-par score of 72. The freshman had four birdies, 10 pars, and four bogeys to finish two strokes behind Meyers. Lukas Cascino also placed in the Top-10 with a three-over par round of 75, carding pars on 15 of the 18 holes with three bogeys in the back six holes.

Zander McClain ended one stroke behind Cascino with a 76 to finish in 11th place. On the afternoon, he had four birdies, eight pars, three bogeys, and two double bogeys.

Fletcher Dasso (17th place, 77) and Ben Diskin (24th place, 80) rounded out the Saint Francis team players. Dasso registered two birdies, 10 pars, five bogeys, and a double bogey, while Diskin posted 10 pars and eight bogeys.

Joey Miller (19th place, 78), Tanner Mona (27th place, 81), Bryce Van Horn (31st place, 85) and Alex Carr (34th place, 87) participated in the event as individuals. Miller recorded two birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys, and two double bogeys, while Mona had a birdie, nine pars, seven bogeys, and a double bogey. Van Horn carded a birdie, seven pars, eight bogeys, and two double bogeys, and Carr had a birdie, seven pars, five bogeys, and four double bogeys. 

Saint Francis posted its best round in the spring with a 293, two strokes ahead of Mercyhurst (295). Canisius (299), Niagara (302), and the Mercyhurst "B" team (330) rounded out the field. 

FLASH MOMENTS AT PENN STATE ALTOONA SPRING INVITATIONAL
The Red Flash sent a team to the Penn State Altoona Invitational on Friday, and its "B" team tied for fourth place. Cascino McClain finished 10th to lead Saint Francis with a three-over round of 75 thanks to two birdies, 11 pars, and five bogeys. 

Miller (23rd place, 79), Mona (47th place, 83) and Carr (53rd place, 84) competed as team players, and Van Horn (43th place, 82) played as an individual. Miller and Van Horn each had a birdie in their round.
