Dasso Finishes 28th For Saint Francis At Northeast Conference Men's Golf Championships

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Fletcher Dasso finished 28th to lead Saint Francis at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Men's Golf Championships on Saturday.
>> Dasso shot 70-81-79 to finish the three rounds with a 230. In the final round, the freshman had a birdie on seven, 10 pars, five bogeys and two double bogeys
>> Dasso ended his first league championships with seven birdies, 29 pars, 12 bogeys, and six double bogeys.
>> Alex Yong posted the team's best round of the day with a 77.
>> The Red Flash finished ninth as a team.

FLASH MOMENTS
Yong and Trent Meyers tied for 33rd with a three-round score of 234. Alexander McClain (42nd place, 243) and Ben Diskin (86) also participated in the final round. Diskin carded a 174 in the final two rounds after Hunter Jurica registered an 87 in the first round.

Yong posted birdies on five and 18 with nine pars, six bogeys, and a double bogey in the final round. The freshman recorded rounds of 76, 81, and 77 in his first NEC Championships and finished with five birdies, 27 pars, 18 bogeys, and four double bogeys.

Meyers had a birdie on seven, 10 pars, five bogeys, and two double bogeys. In his second championship, the sophomore recorded 82, 73, and 79 rounds to finish the 54 holes with seven birdies, 25 pars, 16 bogeys, and six double bogeys. 

McClain had birdies on 12 and 16 with nine pars, three bogeys, and four double bogeys. The freshman posted rounds of 78, 83, and 82 and recorded three birdies, 28 pars, 16 bogeys, and seven double bogeys in the three rounds. 

Diskin carded 10 pars, three bogeys, and five double bogeys on Saturday and finished his two rounds with a birdie, 14 pars, 12 bogeys, and nine double bogeys in his two rounds of action.

Jurica recorded four birdies, four pars, five bogeys, and five double bogeys in the first round. 

Howard rallied to win the championship with a score of 860, two strokes ahead of LIU (862). FDU (869), Le Moyne (891), Wagner (892), Binghamton (897), Chicago State (912), UMES (940), Saint Francis (941), North Carolina Central (945) and Mercyhurst (954) rounded out the 11-team field.
