LORETTO, Pa. -
Andrew Deardorff, a 2025 graduate of the Saint Francis men's volleyball team, is one of 21 athletes who will train with USA Volleyball with the Men's U23 National Team from July 27 to August 4 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, in hopes of playing for the NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup.
Deardorff wrapped his sensational career at Saint Francis as the Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year, earning a spot on the All-NEC first team for the third-straight season. In addition, he was named an AVCA All-American honorable mention to become the fifth player in program history to earn that status. The Illinois native led the NEC in service aces (53), service aces per game (0.54) points (452), and kills (384), ranked second in kills per game (3.92) and points per game (4.61), and third in hitting percentage (.315). On the national level, he ranked sixth in NCAA in aces per set (.541), 12th in kills per set, 12th in points per set, and 36th in hitting percentage. Deardorff registered 20 kills in a game seven times in his senior season, including a career-high 26 kills against Lincoln Memorial on February 1 (ninth most in single-season program history) and recorded two double-doubles [19 kills and 10 digs at Daemen (April 11); 22 kills and 10 digs vs LIU (April 18)]. In addition, he was a seven-time First Point/NEC Player of the Week and one-time NEC Defensive Player of the Week.Â
Deardorff finished his career playing 103 matches with 1,022 kills (seventh in rally-scoring team history), 109 service aces (third in team history), 444 digs, 132 blocks, 63 assists, and 1,204 points. He helped the Red Flash to the first three NEC regular season titles and a trip to the NEC Championship Game each season.
The 21 athletes will gather for a training block at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, Calif., from July 20-27. From this pool, 12 athletes will be chosen to represent the United States in Guatemala.
Deardorff would become the first Red Flash player to compete at this level if chosen.
