TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
During Saint Francis' conference matchup with Delaware State Sunday, the Hornets quickly put a number on the board driving past the Red Flash defense during the third minute of the match. Â
Thirty seconds later, a handball call in the box by Saint Francis gave the Hornets another opportunity to score with an executed penalty kick. Delaware State shut out the Red Flash for the remaining 42 minutes of the half.Â
The Red Flash had multiple opportunities where they crossed the ball in front of the goal, but no player was able to finish the rest of the play.Â
During the second half, a quick touch from Angelina Kasak and a give and go from Caterina Schiavo to Kerr, put the Red Flash on the board and brought the score deficit down to only one. Â The rest of the half remained scoreless for both teams.
FLASH MOMENTSÂ
Kerr, with two defenders on her, had a scoring opportunity at 49:16, but was saved by Delaware State's goalkeeper.Â
Kerr had another chance at 51:58, where Raine Korpics fed her the ball, but Kerr's shot missed left.Â
Meredith Artz had a scoring opportunity at 74:02, but missed high right of the goal.Â
Lucia Johnson had a chance of her own at 82:25, but missed just high.Â
Korpics and Anouk Landgraff had scoring opportunities at 86:38 and 86:48, but both were saved by Delaware State's goalkeeper.Â
