Chris Moncrief and
Skylar Wicks, members of the Saint Francis men's basketball team, have been named NEC Prime Performers for the week of January 20-26. Wicks earns his seventh NEC Prime Performer award, while Moncrief earns his first recognition.
Wicks tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds for his first NEC double-double and third of his career in an 81-60 win against Chicago State on Friday. Wicks shot 7-for-14 from the floor, 4 of 8 from behind the arc, and 2 of 2 from the charity stripe. Wicks had five points in a 19-6 run to give the Red Flash the lead for good. He then had six points in a 12-2 run to put Saint Francis a 10+ point lead for the rest of the game early in the second half. Wicks ranks second in the NEC in scoring (17.4 ppg) and ranks third in defensive rebounds (5.71 rpg), fourth in rebounding (7.1 rpg), fifth in steals (1.65 spg), seventh in 3-pointers made (2.06 pg), and ninth in assists (2.71 apg). The redshirt senior is averaging 15.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in the four NEC wins.
Moncrief posted 18 points against the Cougars. Moncrief shot 7-for-9 from the floor, 1 of 2 from 3-point land, and 3 of 4 from the free throw line. Moncrief had five points in a 12-2 run to put Saint Francis a 10+ point lead for the rest of the game early in the second half. The Red Flash is 4-0 when Moncrief scores 10+ points in NEC play and is averaging 15.5 points per game in those contests.
Freshman
Paris Papadatos was named the NEC Rookie of the Week for the week of December 1-7 after scoring 19 points against Penn State Shenango on December 3 and 15 points at Radford on December 7. Wicks leads the team with seven NEC Prime Performer distinctions, while Moncrief, senior

After the game against New Haven was postponed due to weather, Saint Francis will clash with Chicago State for the second time in seven days, this time at the Windy Center on Thursday. Game time is 7 p.m. EST.
