Alexis Hurd, a sophomore sprinter, got the 2012 outdoor season off to a hot start over the weekend at the Wake Forest Open. Hurd posted the best times in the NEC in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes on opening outdoor weekend. Hurd's time of 12.10 in the 100m is a personal-best and the third fastest in school history, while her 200m time of 25.17 is the fourth fastest in school history and .20 off a personal best. For her efforts, Hurd earned NEC Track Athlete of the Week.
