Haleigh Dunyon (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) fired the game-winner to lift Saint Francis to a 3-2 win at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Red Flash raised its Northeast Conference record to 6-2-0 and improved to 12-4-1, making the 2010 squad the winningest in program history.
After managing only two shots in the first half, the Red Flash needed less than eight minutes in the second period to cut their deficit to a single goal. From 12 yards out McKibben buried a cross from Traci Flick (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) to notch her 14th goal of the campaign.
Two minutes and eight seconds later – in the 55th minute – McKibben caught the FDU keeper out of position and registered no. 15 from about 12 yards out.
The goal was unassisted.
In the midst of a nine-shot half, the Red Flash had to wait for the 72:50 mark to take its first lead of the day via Dunyon's ninth score of the season.
A nicely-placed cross from freshman Barbara Maros de Carvalho (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Sagrado Coraco de Jesus) (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Sagrado Caraco de Jesus) set up the game-winner. The assist was her 11th of the year, which ranks as the second most in a season in SFU history.
Keeper Lauren Fearer (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant Area) (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant Area) made five stops on the day to up her record to 8-2-1.
