LORETTO, Pa. – Six members of the Saint Francis University swimming team will close out their first semester of competition by going up against some of the nation's best at the USA Swimming Short Course National Championships, Dec. 2-4 in Columbus, Ohio.
Seniors
Melissa Heintz (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) and
Hanna Yttring (Gothenburg, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet), sophomore
Alicia Ford (Whitney Point, N.Y./Whitney Point) and freshmen
Meghan Cotugno (Cape Coral, Fla., Cape Coral),
Libby Francis (Dundee, Scotland, Grove Academy) and
Elise Löfgren (Molnlycke, Sweden/Hulebacks) will represent the first-ever Red Flash student-athletes to participate in the prestigious event.
Day one will feature the 200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and 400 medley relay. Friday the competitors will take part in the 200 medley relay, 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 800 freestyle relay. The meet concludes Saturday with the 1,650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 400 free relay. On each day the preliminary session will begin at 9 a.m., with the finals session at 5 p.m.
