Cleveland, Ohio – (11/23/2013) The second day of the Magnus Cup Invitational began with the 200-yard medley relay, were the Red Flash finished tenth.
Sara Dieterich (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot),
Catherine Rogers (Nokesville, Va./Seton School),
Libby Francis (Dundee, Scotland/Grove Academy), and
Danyel Johnson (Dansville, N.Y./Dansville) marked a top 10 finish in the Saint Francis history books, 1:49.26, pacing the Flash on the afternoon.
Elise Lofgren led the charge for Saint Francis in the 400-yard individual medley, 4:39.79, while Dieterich marked a lifetime best performance, 4:49.87.
Following the 400-yard individual medley was the 100-yard fly. Four Saint Francis swimmers partook in the event, Francis leading the way scoring five points in the event.
Kelly Marcotte (Whitney Point, N.Y./Whitney Point) posted a season-best, 1:01.56, on the afternoon.
Mary-Margaret Folz swam the 100-yard fly followed by the 200-yard freestyle. In the 200-yard freestyle she posted a season-best showing, 1:56.23, earning the eighth fastest time on the team this season.
In the 100-yard breast stroke Rogers improved her time on the day, swimming a 1:07.06.
The 800-yard freestyle relay ended day two of the Magnus cup. Lofgren,
Katrina Wilhite (Sparks, Nev./Edward C. Reed), Gabri Pierre, and Folz had an impressive showing placing seventh overall, 7:54.39. Lofgren's time in her leg of the 800-yard freestyle, 1:57.43, almost made the top 10 list of the SFU record book.
Saint Francis, currently in 10th place concludes the Magnus Cup Invitational tomorrow afternoon.
