SOMERSET, N.J. – Freshman Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen) won her first NEC Swimmer of the Week award, announced Wednesday by the conference.
 
Lafferty won three events, including two individual races on Saturday against the Mount. She won the 100 freestyle in 53.32 and the 200 freestyle in 1:56.11. She was part of the winning 400 freestyle relay team, as well. Lafferty also was part of the B relay team in the 200 relay that finished second behind the SFU A team.
 
The Red Flash next competes at Duquesne on Friday evening with a 5:30 p.m. start.
