Catherine Rogers (Nokesville, Va./Seton School) set a pool record this afternoon in the 100-yd breaststroke with a time of 1:05.08.
"I'm extremely proud of Catherine for setting this record. She has shown poise throughout her career at Saint Francis and she helped lead the team this afternoon with her performances," said Head Coach
Rory Coleman.
The previous record was held by S. Duval of LSU with a time of 1:05.92.
Lane four must have been the lucky number for the Flash as each swimmer that raced in lane four took home the victory in that event.
Rogers, along with
Sara Dieterich (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot),
Mary Kish (Glendale, Ariz./Bourgade Catholic), and
Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen) were all apart of the 200-yd medley relay that opened the scoring for Saint Francis.
SFU recorded points in each of the first seven events, winning each event before the first break.
Returning from the break, Saint Francis picked up right where it left off as Lafferty won the 100-yd freestyle with a time of 53.83.
Mary Margaret Folz (Valencia, Pa./Eden Christian Academy), Dieterich, Karell, Lafferty, and Rogers all won their individual events.
Katelynn Happney (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester ) kept the winning for SFU going as she took the victory in the 200-yd IM with the time of 2:18.19.
Saint Francis finished off the clean sweep of the meet with a victory in the 200-TD freestyle relay. Leading the way were Lafferty, Rogers, Kish, and Reilly; again in lane four.
Each SFU swimmer recorded points in every event to help bring the Flash to victory.
"After warm-up, the team was smiling, laughing and having fun. That's when I knew that we would swim well." Coleman continued, "With these preformances, this is a great way to build towards the NEC championships with only one meet left in the regular season."
The final line for the meet ended up being Saint Francis U, 152 Siena 103.
The Red Flash travel to Youngstown State before it gets ready for the NEC conference meet on Feb. 25.
