SOMERSET, N.J.- For the second-straight week Saint Francis freshman forward Mario Mastrangelo (Venetia, Pa/Peters Township) has swept the Northeast Conference Rookie and Player of the Week for his efforts in the 1-0 victory over Robert Morris on Sunday. 

Mastrangelo scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season in the 88th minute to secure the #2-seed in the upcoming Northeast Conference tournament. The freshman got in behind the Robert Morris defense and settled down a beautiful cross from teammate Andres Vega (Managua, Nicaragua/Colegio Centro America) and drove it into the upper-right 90 for the match's lone goal. 

The goal gives the freshman 10 on the season and 21 points, both team highs and second in the Northeast Conference. The 10 goals are also tied for fourth in the NCAA amongst freshman and top-20 overall in the country. 

Saint Francis and Robert Morris meet up again on Friday in the first semi-final of the NEC tournament hosted by LIU Brooklyn. Match time is set for noon with the winner advancing to the NEC title match on Sunday.
