MONROEVILLE, Pa. (April 2, 2015) - The Saint Francis University men's tennis team kept rolling as it won its third straight match by beating Mount St. Mary's, 6-1, on Thursday afternoon.

The Red Flash stays perfect in Northeast Conference play at 2-0 and improves to 6-7 overall. The Mountaineers entered the contest 9-3, 2-0.

"This was a solid performance from the men today. Mount St. Mary's is a strong team. We had two battles with them last year, so we knew coming in that we needed to compete at our best. The guys rose to the occasion and played a complete match from top to bottom. This was a great end to our conference schedule," SFU head coach Rob Castille said.

Washi Gervais (Longueuil, Quebec/College Stanislas) won at No. 1 singles for SFU by bested Mount St. Mary's Austin Blake in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3. Rookie Alec Dylan Foo-Kune (Phoenix, Mauritius/International Connections Academy (Md.)) won at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Chris Jimenez (Bayside, N.Y./St. Francis Preparatory) lost just one game at No. 4 singles and beat MSM's Darren Mast, 6-1, 6-0.

Sergio Carvajal (Nueva Esparta, Venezuela/U.E. Fray Elias Maria Sendra) lost the first set at No. 5 singles, but bounced back to win, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7. Finally, Eli Cerdan (Bloomfield, N.J. /Saint Mary High School) won at No. 6 singles, 7-6, 4-6, 10-8.

The Flash also won all doubles contest with Gervais and Rodrigo Tico (Guadalajara, Mexico/Colegio de Bachilleres) picked up the victory at No . 1.

SFU is back in action tomorrow in Monroeville against Dayton, the match will begin at 12 p.m.
