Loretto, Pa. - Junior defender
Francis de Vries (Christchurch, New Zealand/Cashmere) has been named to the 2015 MAC Hermann watch list, given annually to the nation's top men's soccer player.
The junior is coming off a sensational season that saw him named the school's first NSCAA All-American selection, NEC Defensive Player of the Year, All-Region, as well as first team All-NEC and All-Tournament. His six goals were good for second on the Flash and he was tops on the team and 11th in the nation with five game-winning goals.
The watch list is compiled by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American committees and is based on stats of returning All-American and All-Region players. de Vries is one of 13 returning All-Americans on the watch list.
The defending NEC regular-season champions open the 2015 season with an exhibition match at Pittsburgh on August 19th. The Flash home slate starts in their second exhibition match when they host Cleveland State on the 22nd.
