Casey Gallaher (Sidman, Pa./Forest Hills) was named an Honorable Mention All Star by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.Â
The ECAC is considered the nation's largest conference, consisting of over 300 schools across all three NCAA divisions. There are 88 schools in the ECAC Division I ranks.Â
This season, the ECAC stipulated that only players named to their respective conference's first team were eligible for All-Star consideration. Gallaher earned NEC First Team honors as a senior and it marked the fourth consecutive year that Gallaher was named All-NEC (two second-teams, one All-Rookie). On the year,  the Sidman, Pennsylvania native scored two goals, including the game-winner against VMI and tallied an assist in the NEC semi-final victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. Gallaher made the successful transition from forward on to the defensive back line this season, helping lead a defense that limited NEC opponents to .83 goals per game to go along with five shutouts.
She earned a spot on the NEC All-Tournament team tallying that assist against FDU as well as helping secure a pair of tournament shutouts en route to the team's third NEC title and second in Gallaher's career.Â
