Loretto, Pa. –
The Saint Francis lacrosse team (6-6, 1-2 NEC) will enjoy its final homestand of the 2017 season with pivotal games vs. Bryant on Friday, Apr. 21, at 2 p.m. and Central Connecticut State on Sunday, Apr. 23, at noon. Sunday's meeting with the Blue Devils will serve as senior day for a group of seven seniors.

Scouting Bryant

Bryant, the top-seed in the NEC Conference Tournament in 2016 before falling to Wagner in the Championship game, is 3-0 in conference play and 7-4 overall. Sophomore Jess DeMeo, the 2016 NEC Rookie of the Year, leads the team with 29 goals. Freshman Caitlin Breglia is a candidate to win this year's Rookie of the Year as she has posted 22 goals and 10 assists through 11 games. The Bulldogs are the top defensive team in the conference with a goals against average of 7.95. Junior goalie Samantha Santeramo, an All-NEC First Team selection last season, is on pace to repeat as she leads the conference with a 7.61 goals against average and a 53.6% save percentage. Saint Francis is 0-8 all-time vs. the Bulldogs including a 17-12 loss last season.

Scouting Central Connecticut State

The Blue Devils, owners of a 2-10 overall record and 1-2 record in conference play, are 1-4 in games decided by three goals or less. Most of the Blue Devils attack flows through senior midfielder Marissa Soto who leads the team and ranks second in the conference with 33 goals. Freshman midfielder Megan Szalowski is second on the team with 21 goals and leads the conference with 20 assists. The Central Connecticut offense has struggled with its consistency, ranking last in the conference in goals per game (8.42).

Special Senior Class

The Red Flash will celebrate one of its most successful senior classes in program history on Sunday. The class, which consists of Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus), Heather McKee (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright Bel Air), Sydney Shearer (Morgantown, W. Va./Morgantown), Anai Flanagan (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton), Grace Smith (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange), Victoria O'Brien (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown East) and Blair Rosenberg (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor), has stockpiled 17 wins over its four seasons. Two more wins over the final four games will push them past the 2013 class for the winningest class in program history.

Lawrence in Pursuit of Single-Season Goals Record

Senior Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) has potted a league-leading 40 goals through the first 12 games (3.33 goals per game) of the season and needs nine to tie and 10 to surpass the program record of 49 set by Danielle Conwell in 2013. Lawrence ranks third in Saint Francis career goals with 110.

Chasing History

Saint Francis is one win away from setting the school record for wins in a season with seven. The Red Flash tied the program record of six wins set in 2010 with a 10-9 win over Wagner to open conference play.
