Lawrence named Second Team All-NEC

2017 All-Conference Teams

Somerset, N.J. –
Senior midfielder Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) was named to the NEC All-Conference Second Team on Thursday, the conference office announced at its annual awards banquet. She was a Second Team All-Conference selection in 2016 as well.

Lawrence set the Saint Francis single-season goals record with 50, which is tied for the league-lead with Marissa Soto of Central Connecticut State, who was also a second team selection.

Her three NEC Player of the Week awards were tied for the most in the conference with NEC Offensive Player of the Year Jess DeMeo from Bryant. Lawrence scored five or more goals in four games, including a career-high seven in a one-goal victory over Longwood. She also added two assists in the win to tie the school's single-game scoring record with nine points.

Lawrence's value to the team was tangible in more ways than just her ability to score goals. A two-way midfielder, she led the Red Flash with 51 draw controls, ranked second with 18 caused turnovers and was third with 26 ground balls.

She finishes her career third in SFU history in career points (139), goals (120) and draw controls (120) and ninth in ground balls (82).

Lawrence, a team captain, led Saint Francis to a 6-10 record, tying for the most wins in program history.
