Men's Volleyball falls 3-0 Against No. 2 Long Beach State

The Saint Francis Men's Volleyball team dropped a three set match to No. 2 Long Beach State on Saturday night.
Cole Thompson (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos) led the offense with 6 kills while adding 6 points.
Jonathan Messa (Elmwood Park, Ill./St. Francis) finished with 3 digs.
Long Beach State opened the first set on a 4-0 run before eventually jumping out to a 16-7 lead to force SFU to call its first timeout. After the timeout, LBSU continued to sustain its big lead as Junior TJ DeFalco and Senior Bkarne Huus provided a spark with 4 kills apiece. The 49ers would eventually go on to take the first set, 25-17.
After a slow first set, SFU battles back and forth with the 49ers until they jolt out to a 6-point lead, 17-11. SFU eventually would cut the lead down to 3 points but that wouldn't be enough as LBSU takes a 25-22 second set to give them a 2-0 lead in the match.
The 49ers jumped out to a 20-8 lead in the third set, and prevailed 25-13 to win the match.
The Red Flash will conclude their trip in California with a 2-2 record and welcome Alderson Broaddus to Loretto for the home opener at 7 p.m.
