LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis Men's Tennis team is set for a pair of home matches this weekend at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville.  The Red Flash meets Carnegie Mellon on Saturday at 1 p.m.  SFU takes on Dayton at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Saint Francis, led by Head Coach Rob Castille, looks to get on the winning track after an 0-4 start, including a tough 4-3 loss at Lehigh last Sunday.  After dropping the doubles point, despite a win at No. 2 by sophomore Franz Luna (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Laurel Springs) and freshman Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador/Compuinformatica), the Red Flash won three singles matches to take a 3-2 match lead, but Lehigh won the final two matches to close out the victory.

Luna earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 to improve to 6-5 overall and 3-1 this Spring, while Pinos also moved to 6-5 overall and 2-2 in dual matches with his 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 3.  Senior Alec Dylan Foo-Kune (Phoenix, Mauritius/International Connections Academy (Md.)) picked up his sixth overall win of the year with a 7-6(4), 6-3 victory at No. 2.

Freshman Charles Morkel (Cape Town, South Africa/Paul Roos Gymnasium) has four wins this year, while junior Chad Allender (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) and sophomores Eduardo Garcia (Toluca, Mexico/Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico) and Samuel Miller (Smithfield, R.I./Homeschool) are looking for their first wins of the season.

Luna and Pinos lead the team with four doubles wins this year, owning a 4-4 mark.

Carnegie Mellon is ranked 10th in the ITA Division III Poll.  The Tartans are 3-1 this season, with wins over Grove City, Oberlin and Christopher Newport.  However, CMU fell 6-1 against Duquesne last weekend.  Saint Francis defeated Carnegie Mellon, 5-2, last year.

Dayton is 5-2 this year, owning victories against Toledo, IUPUI, Richmond, Eastern Illinois and Wright State.  Last weekend, the Flyers fell 4-3 against Butler on Friday, but bounced back for 4-0 wins over Eastern Illinois and Wright State on Sunday.  Dayton takes on Duquesne on Friday and George Mason on Saturday before meeting the Red Flash on Sunday.
