STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Saint Francis Women's Tennis team's match against LIU Brooklyn went unfinished on Sunday.  The teams got through the doubles point and started the first three singles matches before the match was stopped.  The match was halted after the men's match vs. Wagner went longer than anticipated and an issue with the lights at the courts.

At No. 2 doubles, junior Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) and sophomore Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) took on the Blackbirds' Sasha Bollweg and Jessica Brzozowska.  The Red Flash duo earned a tight 7-6 win, including a 7-3 tiebreaker.

In the match at No. 1, sophomore Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) and freshman Nastasia Tamarkin (Washington, D.C./School Without Walls) met LIU's Anna Grigoryan and Ana Leonte.  The SFU pair fell 6-3 as LIU clinched the doubles point.

LIU Brooklyn won the match at No. 3 doubles by default due to no SFU player available.

Seigford took on Bollweg at No. 1 singles.  After dropping the first set, 6-3, Seigford was leading 4-3 in the second set when the match was stopped.

Gutierrez faced LIU's Leysen at No. 2.  The SFU sophomore fell 6-3 in the opening set, but was ahead 4-1 in the next set when the match was halted.

At No. 3, Bode competed against the Blackbirds' Jennifer Gogova.  Bode dropped the first set, 6-3, and was trailing 3-1 in the second set when it was stopped.

The matches at No. 4, between Tamarkin and LIU's Clemence Krug, and No. 5, between junior Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) and LIU's Ana Leonte, were not played.
